Join the FBJ family this Christmas as we celebrate the greatest gift God has given us. Throughout the month of December, we will tell the story of Jesus’ birth and worship the child who became a man and died for everyone so that all may have a relationship with God. Scroll down, see the ways FBJ uniquely celebrates Christmas, and decide how you will get involved this year.
December 13, 20, and 24 in-person and online
When you think of Christmas, what do you think about? Maybe decorating a tree, the lights that are put up all over your neighborhood, shopping, Christmas movies, Christmas carols, hot chocolate by the fire, presents, or family gatherings with our favorite foods. Those are great moments, but sometimes Christmas can be hard. What if we’ve misunderstood Christmas? What if we’ve even misunderstood the first Christmas?
This year let’s Reimagine Christmas by looking back at the first Christmas to see what life was really like for the people involved. Pastor Chip Stevens will take us through four unique stories of those involved in the first Christmas. As we do, we’ll discover that life wasn’t easy for any of them, but that the message of Christmas really is “good tidings of great joy” (Luke 2:10).
Go deeper with your family this year by picking up or downloading the Reimagine Christmas Family Devotional. These weekly devotionals that complement Chip’s sermon series are great opportunities to gather together in your home and study deeper the meaning of Christmas while looking at practical application in today’s world. Devotion books will be available online and in print on November 15.

Join us as we share the good news of great joy in this special video presentation featuring Charles Billingsley, Pastor Chip Stevens, and the Sanctuary Choir and Orchestra of First Baptist Jackson. Journey with us through the first Christmas as we encounter what looked hopeless then directs us toward the truth that no matter the circumstance, we find ourselves in throughout life, God so loved the world that He made a way to Him through the birth and death of His son. And this unchanging truth is the same today as it was then.
