Special Ministries

The Special Ministries of First Baptist Jackson ensures that people with special needs have a safe place to learn about Jesus Christ. Loving volunteers joyfully lead our students to worship together through Bible stories, learning God’s word, music, crafts, prayer request, and fellowship.

Family Testimonies

“The Special Ministries Program at First Baptist Jackson has truly been special to my family for over 30 years. They have provided a place for my autistic son to attend church which allowed my family to attend church. I have always felt that the workers in this program are the truly the ‘special’ ones giving of themselves in such an unselfish manner. I didn’t choose to have a son with special needs, but they made a choice to love him and others like him. There’s gotta be a special place in Heaven for these workers.” — Mike Pigford

First Jackson supports and hosts events around Jackson to support our special needs community.  Engage and serve and be blessed in every aspect of this ministry.

Nothing New under the Sun

Don’t lose heart, sister. Jesus has overcome the world in every single generation. You can, and will, overcome in the one in which God has placed you.

Shedding Dead Leaves

When the season necessitates, the leaves of even healthy trees die. But, the tree itself remains alive!

Our competence comes from God alone. He, in us, is competent for every single task to which we are called.

Just Dust

Perfect Portion

He is exactly what we need in the right amount. Never too little, never too much, never too early, never too late.

Growing Straight

When you break, you don’t necessarily grow healthy and straight by accident. In surgery, you use a screw, a rod, or a plate. In life, you anchor to Christ Jesus and the ancient, immovable Word of God.

One Day at a Time

In these strange days we are living, we cannot easily anticipate. We can only be where we are and live this present moment. We can only trust that God is delivering “manna” for this day alone when we wake up each morning.

Make Me Brave

From cover to cover, scripture is filled with fearful people who God made brave for their tasks at hand. I want God to take this often cowardice heart within me and make it brave for His glory.

First Fruits

I’m always grateful that God would use us in His miracles. So humbling. But, what I find staggering is that HE creates something out of nothing.

Hold Everything Loosely

Even good things may not be God’s best for us. Even sweet joys of life are often used to keep us from relying on Jesus. Like a child with candy that we love, He pulls back one finger at a time as we tighten our grip.
