We can’t wait to see you this weekend at Joy!: Carols by Candlelight 2022!
We are looking forward to sharing the message of the Joy that we can all have through Jesus through this year’s Carols by Candlelight. We would like to share some information to make your experience at Carols a great one from the time you arrive on campus.
ARRIVING AT FBJ
Please be aware of these two events that will have an impact on traffic this weekend, and as you plan, allow a few extra minutes for parking. The Two Mississippi Museums (across from the FBJ campus on North Street) are celebrating their fifth anniversary this weekend with special events and free admission. As a result, we anticipate more traffic in the area and parking in public areas being more limited. Also, Mississippi Street between North Street and President Street is currently under construction and one-way, going west. We will have off-duty officers assisting with traffic flow.
For those of you who will be coming to First Baptist Jackson for the first time, our church is located at 431 N. State Street in downtown Jackson (map). Parking is available in the following areas:
- Parking lots on North Street, to the east of the church (in the block next to the Two Mississippi Museums);
- To the north of the church there are lots located on the east and west sides of N. State and High Streets; and,
- On the south side of the church, in the parking lot of the Mississippi Baptist Convention Board at the corner of N. State and Mississippi Streets.
The main entrance for Carols by Candlelight is on N. State Street. The waiting area before doors open is in Fellowship Hall East, just inside the N. State Street entrance, and you will be asked for your tickets here. You can show your tickets on your phone, or a printed copy (if you don’t have your tickets, you may also show your receipt or order confirmation).
If you use or someone in your group uses a wheelchair, please use the President Street entrance (across from the State Capitol). This entrance is on the same level as the Sanctuary entrance, and we will have seating for those in wheelchairs and one person accompanying them. Doors will open early for you, to make accessing spaces reserved for wheelchairs as easy as possible.
Doors will open one hour prior to the service. Your ticket guarantees admission if you are seated no later than 15 minutes after the doors open. At that time tickets are no longer required and seats are filled on a first come-first served basis as long as there is space.
