Prayer Guide | December 2

“Look, the days are coming” – this is the Lord’s declaration – “when I will fulfill the good promises that I have spoken concerning the house of Israel and the house of Judah. In those days and at that time I will cause a Righteous Branch to sprout up for David, and He will administer justice and righteousness in the land.” Jeremiah 33:14-15

What an incredible promise that was made to the people of Jerusalem and Israel hundreds of years before Jesus was born. And what Hope it must have held for a city under siege at the time Jeremiah prophesized the coming of this Righteous Branch. That Hope still is – and always will be – available to all of us.

Many of us in our worship and media ministry grew up aware of God’s promise from a young age and accepted Jesus as our Savior as children. As you prepare for Carols today, select one of the songs and think about what the words are really saying. Consider those who may be hearing about God’s love for the first time through Carols and how these words may impact them.

Today volunteers will continue working in the sanctuary and tonight we will have our tech rehearsal, with our production team, soloists, ensembles, and drama cast. Pray for these groups as details are worked out with technical aspects of Carols. Pray for patience from all during this rehearsal, as there are parts in lighting, sound, and video that are changed or used only for Carols. Pray for strength and stamina for the media volunteers, who often have several hours of work before and after rehearsals.
