First Baptist Jackson Prepares for a Large Attendance on Easter Sunday to Celebrate the Resurrection of Christ

Jackson, MS, March 29, 2018 – Every Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m., First Baptist Church of Jackson meets in their downtown Jackson location to worship. This Sunday, April 1, 2018, is Easter Sunday and it’s the day that Christians around the world celebrate the resurrection of Christ. Thousands of people from around the metro Jackson area will be in attendance and as many will be joining the service through the church’s website live stream and social media channels.

“There will be a clear presentation of the gospel on Easter Sunday,” says Dr. Jason Allen, who is the Transitional Pastor at First Baptist Jackson. “Easter is a time when people who are disinclined to go to church have a real opening,” continues Allen, who has titled his sermon for Easter Sunday, “Hope is Alive.”

Dr. Jim Spikes, Congregational Care Pastor, says that “everyone is welcome here and we know that people may have questions about their faith and about Christianity, and we want to help them with those questions.”

The church’s 200-piece choir and 50-piece orchestra will help lead the service that begins at 10:30 a.m. in the church’s Sanctuary. Childcare is available for preschoolers.
